Pastoral scenes from the coast of Nova Scotia in Villages’ new video for ‘Love Will Live On’. The song is a daydream of escaping from everyday life to find a piece of land and peace of mind in the country. Directed by Newfoundland filmmaker Justin Oakey and featuring the band and other characters in a picturesque seaside town the slow-moving images match the hints of pennywhistle that float through the track.
Of the track, the band divulges: “We all have those moments where you just want to drop everything and leave it all behind. ‘Love Will Live On’ is a daydream on just how good it could be if you actually did it.”
The folk-quartet, made up of Matt Ellis, Travis Ellis, Jon Pearo, Archie Rankin, tapped the JUNO-winning composer and soundscapist Joshua Van Tassel (David Myles, Great Lake Swimmers, Fortunate Ones) as producer for this track and the rest of the upcoming album ‘Dark Island’.
