The Heavy Heavy have shared their take on ‘Guinnevere’.

The band have enjoyed a stellar 2022, with Stateside success and some packed out live shows. Recently playing The First Fifty in London, word is out on a group whose blend of acoustic, folk, and soul taps into a classic vibe but from a fresh angle.

Out now, ‘Guinnevere’ comes as the temperatures drop, a cyclical slice of psych-folk with some Americana overtones. Penned by David Crosby, The Heavy Heavy are faithful to the Crosby, Nash & Stills original, while adding their own flavours.

The icy arrangement sends chilled down your spine, with the cyclical guitar riff winding its way into your sub-conscious. A dream-like hymnal, ‘Guinnevere’ feels both ancient, and wholly new.

“‘Guinnevere’ is our favourite David Crosby song,” say The Heavy Heavy. “It’s both haunting and beautiful. It has really interesting harmonies and the droning guitar is an atmosphere in and of itself. The song is totally unique, and we wanted to put our spin on it and get into that world.”

Catch The Heavy Heavy at London’s Lafayette on December 9th as part of Communion All Stars Christmas Club Night.

Tune in now.
