Madonna biopic starring Julia Garner scrapped following world tour announcement

In June last year it was reported that Julia Garner had been offered the lead role in the upcoming Madonna biopic, but according to reports by Variety, Deadline and more, the biopic, which Madonna was due to direct herself, is no longer moving forward at Universal Pictures.
News of the biopic being scrapped comes just days after Madonna announced The Celebration Tour, which will see her celebrate her 40-year career in 35 cities across North America, Europe and the UK. The Celebration Tour will be Madonna’s first since her Madame X tour in 2019 and 2020.
