Kokoroko will release debut album ‘Could We Be More’ on August 5th.
The London based ensemble are rooted in afrobeat, but their brass-laden abstraction dives into the jazz arena.
A string of superb releases and red-hot live shows have scorched their trail, with Kokoroko now completing work on their long-awaited debut album.
Out on August 5th, ‘Could We Be More’ will be released by Brownswood, and its led by a moment of afrobeat magic.
New song ‘We Give Thanks’ is a gentle ear-worm of a song, the trickling guitar lines bisecting the snappy vocals.
Kokoroko explain…
“We were imagining playing live with this one – it’s definitely written with that energy we get towards the end of a set. Some shows, like La Cigalle in Paris or Paradiso in Dam have legit felt magical for us and you always want to give that energy back. This is us trying to do that.”
Tune in now.
Kokoroko will play London’s Electric Brixton on April 6th.
