Kanye West has pulled out of Rolling Loud Miami.

The rapper was due to headline the event, one of the largest hip-hop live event strands in the world. Recently completing a fantastic Portugal stint, Rolling Loud is due to return to Miami for a special weekender (July 22nd – 24th).

A few moments ago Rolling Loud Miami organisers revealed that Kanye West has pulled out, with no reason being specified. Kid Cudi has been drafted as a replacement, and the rapper was clearly elated at the announcement:

For their part Rolling Loud organisers seemed to offer a tongue-in-cheek shoulder shrug to Kanye’s earlier online pronouncements.

The full statement emphasises that this decision was taken by Kanye West, and it follows “months” of communication with the festival team. In the end, though, they “wish him well” – check out the statement below.

“We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing. This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”

Kanye West has yet to comment. It’s been a turbulent 12 months for the rapper, with his marriage to Kim Kardashian coming to pieces, a spat with Pete Davidson, while he’s also being sued for $7.1 million by a Stateside production company.

Rolling Loud Miami takes place between July 22nd – 24th.
