Just Mustard will release debut album ‘Heart Under’ on May 27th.
The band’s stunning live shows and potent early releases displayed a penchant for blending jet black noise with elements of ethereal beauty, a mixture few other projects can match.
The Dundalk group set about recording their debut album last year, working from Attica Studios in Donegal alongside their mutual homes.
Mixed by David Wrench, debut album ‘Heart Under’ is out on May 27th.
“This album felt very blue to us,” vocalist Katie Ball explains. “There was sadness and sorrow in the album, and it felt like being underwater and under something very heavy. We let that influence the music, but it wasn’t a decision – it just naturally happened that way.”
Beautiful new song ‘Still’ seems to encapsulate the band’s aesthetic, soaring to its pointed conclusion.
A wonderfully evocative, deeply mysterious piece of writing, ‘Still’ is an apt jumping off point for Just Mustard’s debut album.
Tune in now.
