Jamaican-American artist Jesse Boykins III presents up one other style of his new album, within the type of a dancehall-inflected ode to chemical attraction, ‘Go With The Feeling’.
Following earlier single ‘Actually I’m A Risk’, ‘Go With The Feeling’ was produced with fellow GRAMMY-nominated producer Wynne Bennet (Janelle Monae, HAIM, Talya and NAZ, and is a chunk of primal dimensional soul benefiting from synergy between all three.
Reflecting on ‘Go With The Feeling’, Jesse Boykins III shares: “When Wynne and I began the sonic course, it felt like a journey and was very free-flowing (I used to be on shrooms). Once we felt the rhythms and soundscapes change into one, it turned obvious to me that it’s a mix of three issues – an indie strategy to recording, dancehall and basement influences, and this refreshing association – that brings all of it collectively.”
