Experimental musician Jean Dawson reveals his long-gestating collaboration with SZA, ‘NO SZNS’ – a stadium-sized slice of California rock riffing on future and seasonal inertia.

A manifestation of ‘The New American Dream’, Dawson has chronicled his backstory as a Mexican-African American, and the pursuit of his goals and lofty targets regardless of the hardships he confronted at dwelling or when he needed to cross the border to get to high school.

Again in 2021, SZA tweeted that Dawson “is the fucking future” with an image of the duo in what was doubtless the serendipitous recording session.
