J. Cole lists the names of heroes that inspired him.
J. Cole was the latest rap artist to appear on Kevin Hart’s show Hart To Heart on Peacock, where the Dreamville boss discussed a lot of topics. During the conversation, the rapper was also asked about the names that inspired him in the rap game,
“List of people that are why I’m here, they don’t even know it. They’re the north stars that I was following. Obviously, there was Pac… forever, like one of the earliest ones. Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, these are like the big bullets,” he said.

He continued, “Then you also got like, I had Royce da 5’9″ moment, I had Cannibus moments, I had boom-boom moments. But in terms of people that really fueled in terms of my ambition and showed me what’s possible. Like the first names I named, those were the highest ones. These were the people that like ‘Yo I’m tryna get there.’ In terms of skill, in terms of success, all of that, they filled me.”
