HiFi Sean is the indie hero who became a dance voyager, an electronic artist whose willingness to collaborate has left his music wide open.
Drawn into the orbit of David McAlmont – a mercurial vocalist, and perhaps one of his generation’s finest voices – the two sculpted an album together, with sessions for ‘Happy Ending’ taking place at the top of an East London tower block.
From there, however, they could see the world. New song ‘Beautiful’ had its 80 piece orchestral section recorded in a Bollywood film studio in Bangalore, India, and the results are breathtaking – a truly magical fusion of influences.
Mixed in a beach hut on Camber Sands, the track seems to exemplify their methodologies. The video airs first through Clash, shot in the stairwell of afore-mentioned Tower Block before heading to Camber Sands on the South Coast.
