Former Trump aide says she was warned about being fired after playing Taylor Swift’s music

Troye was a homeland security, counterterrorism and coronavirus adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, and in a video interview shared by MSNBC, Troye revealed that she was once warned that she could be fired if she was caught playing Taylor Swift‘s music in her office again.

She explained that she ended up playing Swift’s music really loud in her White House office after losing an argument about something she disagreed with relating to the pandemic, and shortly after a colleague knocked on the door and said, “Are you trying to get fired?”

Troye said that she was “super confused” by the question, and replied, “For being blunt in meetings, or for what?”

Her colleague responded, “I don’t think she [Swift] is a fan of Trump’s, so if somebody hears that you should really watch your back. You should be careful on that.”

Troye added that the situation was “so astonishing”, and that she should be allowed to “listen to whatever music I want.”

Yesterday (15 November) Taylor Swift released the video for “I Bet You Think About Me (From The Vault)”, which starred Miles Teller.
