Cordae Celebrates Going Platinum For Collab Song With Eminem

Eminem, Jack Harlow & Cordae’s “Killer” remix goes platinum.

In 2021, Eminem linked up with Jack Harlow and Cordae for a surprise collab “Killer” remix. The song is now eligible for platinum status as it moved 1 million units in the US. Cordae took to his social media to celebrate the achievement. “Yo I got a platinum song with Eminem ! God is amazing,” he wrote.

Previously, Cordae revealed that the Detroit rapper asked him to re-do his verse. “You know what, I did my first verse for ‘Killer (Remix).’ I sent it over to him and I did it more like Andre 3000, E-40 type of flow and then Em called and he was like ‘Yo, I wanted you to be a little more lyrical. Do some rap-rap sh*t on it. I’m like ‘alright cool, whatever’ so he had me re-do my verse on some more rap because at first, I thought that song was not for rap-rap, it’s more like a vibe sort of thing and that’s why I gave that, he was like ‘I want you to attack it’ and I’m like ‘alright, cool, let’s try that.’”

The rapper also revealed the long conversation he had with the ‘Lose Yourself’ rapper. “Right before I did the “Killer” Remix with him, We had an hour and a half conversation about life, about music and hip-hop,” said Cordae. “He has always been showing me genuine love and support very early on and I appreciate all love and public support I get because It’s not like I’m not signed to him, so he does not have to do that. I don’t feel entitled for anybody to show me any type of love so any genuine love and support I get publicly, from fellow peers, fellow artists, I really appreciate that.”

The two went on to work on another song, as Eminem assisted Cordae on the “Parables” Remix which appeared on the “From A Bird’s Eye View” album.
