‘Strong‘ is the most recent single from Charles Wesley Godwin’s latest album ‘How the Mighty Fall‘ (outon November 5th), a follow up to his 2019 debut ‘Seneca‘. The West Virginian has a voice full of a woody resonance, like a clapboard peppered with grit. It’s the perfect vehicle for a song like ‘Strong‘ which celebrates being a survivor, and more than that – a picking it up dusting it down and going again model of endurance. It marks Charles Wesley Godwin of one of the new potential saviours of alt-country – there are no big hats here, but there’s a feeling that is so much more real than that.
